Love/Hate

As some may know my relationship with the Church has been a love/hate relationship for some time now. I know there are parts of the Church that I love, like worship and community. However, there are parts of the Church that just drive me up the wall, like prejudice, exclusion and hypocrisy. Often times, when hearing others talk about the Church, I hear quotes like this one from someone who themselves would not claim to be a Christian, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians, your Christians are so unlike your Christ,” -Gandhi. Aaron’s Update 6/14

My time in NY with friends and family was divine! My work with the Paradise, Uganda project was productive, and I was happy to have raised enough funds for my first month’s rent! When I tried them on, I couldn’t believe how bouncy my feet felt, and when I first ran in them,...

It has been very bitter sweet — while it is great to be home with friends and family, I have also left a lot of friends and family back in Thailand. As many of you can imagine, my first six months were extremely busy and even more adventuresome. When I returned back to the States, I was expecting questions like, “What was the craziest thing that happened to you while you were there?” or “What do...
