My time in NY with friends and family was divine! My work with the Paradise, Uganda project was productive, and I was happy to have raised enough funds for my first month’s rent! After three productive weeks home in NY, I am back at work in Kansas City! This last week at the Hope City Prayer room, I led the two hour intercession set in Spanish for the first time in three weeks, and it went much better than I expected; I hadn’t completely forgotten Spanish! Running with new kicks…

Sweat dripping off fists swinging, and my pounding heart racing to pull oxygen from rapid, strained breaths. I love running. For years I had the same old rugged pair of running shoes. They gradually decayed until I had completely forgotten the feeling of new shoes. That was until someone gave me a $100 gift certificate to Foot Locker. Music, Loneliness, and the Ever Present Power of God

Last week I ended six months of intensive, communal living in an inner-city homeless ministry and prayer house where I was in constant loud and crazy human contact.  Now, I am alone, staying in my friend’s basement, a two bedroom apartment, in the quiet suburbs, by myself.  While I continue to serve regularly at Hope City and encounter God in the quiet, not living in close quarters amongst friends and fellow intercessors, not staying with brothers who are struggling to overcome addictions, not having those late night conversations about the battles and victories we are having in Christ, and...

The Fellowship of His Suffering

Prayer is at the center of my ministry here at Hope City. Jesus consumed with zeal for his Father’s house said, “My Father’s house will be called a house of prayer.”  Hope City is an inner city house of prayer that is open to the public to come and rest.  While many in our neighborhood are homeless, addicted to drugs, and poverty stricken, at Hope City they can find a free meal, friendly faces, live prayer and worship all day, and even WiFi.  As a musician here I am playing music and interceding for Kansas City in the prayer...
