This month, we are giving each CODE Missionary the chance to come to you with prayer needs regarding them, their ministries, and the countries where they serve. Each of these posts includes specific prayer requests as well as a YouTube video of a song picked by these missionaries. We encourage you to use these worship songs to center your heart and mind as you lift up our missionaries before God’s throne. Thank you for loving our missionaries well and soaking them in your prayers. We are all so thankful for you– our supporters, readers, and friends.
Things to pray about…
(Taps chin with finger in pensive thought.)
Things to pray about…
Ummm…how about everything!
Here in Japan, we deal with a lot of stuff month to month, day to day, moment to moment.
A lot of that stuff is attacks from the enemy:
Feelings of Depression.
Disappointment with language.
Frustration with language.
Comparison with language.
(Pretty much…please be praying for language.)
The list goes on.
It’s not much of a surprise. For anyone attuned to the missionary world, it’s just a fact.
Japan is a hard place– a wonderful, amazing, beautiful, cultured, honorable place, but spiritually, its about as hard as it gets.
We need prayer as much as we need food or water here. Seriously.
So pray for the hearts of the Japanese to become soft. Pray that the love and grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit would crack that hardness and plant a seed of hope.
Pray that the churches in Japan would put aside their differences, stop fighting, and be the united BODY of Christ that 1 Corinthians 12 calls them to be.
Pray that the Japanese would begin to seek freedom: from their isolating culture from the constant pressure of having to meet society’s ridiculous standards, from the perception that people can merely be assets that you can use and discard without further thought.
Yah…be praying for freedom. For hope. For true identity.
To be honest, I don’t know everything you should be praying for. But God does. Start asking God to open your heart and see what He sets on it.
He is calling you to prayer. He is calling all of His warriors to pray.
Join the battle.
We need it.
